What We Offer for Early Education Professionals...
- Training Opportunities—Sessions on topics of interest to child care and early education professionals are provided throughout the year. Most sessions are provided free or for a nominal fee. Training includes topics such as:
- Foundations for Early Learning
- Inclusion Awareness
- Disability Specific Training
- Infant/Toddler Care
- Biting and Potty Training
- Discipline/Behavior Management
- Child Development
- Health & Safety
- State Child Care Licensing Orientation and Information—Those interested in opening a child care home, unlicensed registered ministry or child care center need to attend Licensing Orientation I (OT I) and Licensing Orientation II (OT II).
This is a requirement of licensing and the first step in the licensing process. Licensing Orientation is free of charge. OT II can only be taken with prior attendance at OT I. Those interested in OT I may contact our office to register or to find our more. - Safe Sleeping Practices and Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Child Care –In this interactive training we will share national safe sleep standards for reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and accidental deaths in child care. This training is open to all, but required for licensed and CCDF home providers at this time. This presentation satisfies the requirements of Public Law 162-2005, requiring all licensed child care home providers and legally-licensed exempt home providers accepting CCDF vouchers.

- Pre-registration is required for most training offered by our agency and is generally available up to the date of the training. If registering less than 48 hours prior to the training event, please contact our office to verify space availability. When registering online, you will receive an email confirmation.

- Resources—Ongoing support and information
on a wide variety of topics from state rules and regulations
for child care to activity ideas are available. We can assist
child cares and or preschools in meeting best practices for
the early care and education of young children.
- Childhood Connections Newsletter—a free newsletter is available to all early education professionals. You can choose to receive the newsletter by email or regular US mail on a bi-monthly basis (go to the newsletter sign-up to choose your preference). The newsletter outlines trainings, workshops, and other events sponsored by our organization. It also gives providers the most up-to-date information on changes to state rules, regulations, ideas for activities for children and other news affecting the child care and early education field. Stay informed by reading the newsletter regularly!
- Resource Lending Library—Childhood
Connections maintains an extensive list of materials
available to child care facilities and homes for check-out.
Books, videos, toys, adaptive equipment and more are
available. For a complete list and more information contact

- Assistance in Marketing your Business—Take advantage of the assistance our office can provide in helping you keep your enrollment stable and at your desired capacity. All you have to do is update your information 4 times per year and meet our eligibility guidelines for receiving referrals.. We'll do the rest! Our referral specialist will match your business with parents needing child care services and provide them with information on how to contact you.
Better Baby Care™ Indiana (BBCI)
Better Baby Care™ Indiana (BBCI) is part of a national movement to improve child care environments and support systems for parents and caregivers of infants and toddlers. BBCI has four components of focus including: safe and healthy care, family centered care, developmentally appropriate care, and support for caregivers, families and the community. The goal of BBCI is to promote the healthy development of babies, toddlers, and families throughout Indiana. Indiana Partnership for Inclusive Child Care (IPICC)
Through the Indiana Partnership for Inclusive Child Care, Childhood Connections assists families in finding quality child care for children with special needs. Services include: enhanced referrals for parents including vacancy checks, educational materials, and periodic follow-ups. Additionally we can offer trainings to parents on a variety of topics. If you are interested in participating in the IPIIC Program enhanced referral program please call Childhood Connections directly at 1-866-693-0672.
